In 2018 the special guest speaker was Hayley Robinson who along with her husband Brad had the experience of a lifetime running a feedlot in Russia. Her story was interesting and inspirational as she and her husband not only ran the 100 000 head feedlot, but had to educate “the locals” on how to run a feedlot.

The second “BEEF UP” Charity Auction was also held, giving everyone the opportunity to bid on some of the finest boxes of beef that our local feedlots had to offer. The proceeds from this went to a charity of their choice. 2017 beneficiaries of the auction were Beyond Blue, Black Dog Institute, Rick Seeds Charity Campdraft, Lifeflight and Royal Flying Doctor Service, with $4800 being raised for these very worthy recipients.
