Australia’s feedlot sector is encouraging women to be inspired through their achievements in major leadership roles in the industry.
The founder of a new group called WOLF or ‘Women of Lot Feeding’ has taken an opportunity on International Women’s Day to advocate the sector’s progress.
Based on Queensland’s Darling Downs Amanda Moohen said while her industry was traditionally dominated by blokes more women are stepping into leading roles.
Mrs Moohen said the so-called ‘WOLF-pack’ doesn’t preclude men but encouraged their involvement to foster mutual respect.
“Yes, women have certain roles they are better at. Men have certain roles they are better but together we can be an amazing team.”
